Goldsboro’s Lewis Sees Time on “The Voice” Come to an End

LOS ANGELES — Goldsboro native Tae Lewis’ resilient run to the semifinals of NBC’s “The Voice” came to an end on Tuesday evening.

Lewis, who now resides in Nashville, was one of five contestants who had not received enough votes from viewers to advance to the finals. He sang Walker Hayes’ “Wanted,” in his last chance performance before host Carson Daly brought the final five contestants back on stage.

As Tuesday night’s episode went off the air, Daly announced that Bryan Olesen, of team John Legend, had been voted by viewers to advance to the finals.

Lewis brought pride to his hometown throughout his journey on “The Voice.” On the May 7 episode of “The Voice,” Lewis received enough votes from viewers to be the final contestant to advance to the semifinals.

Earlier in the season, Lewis stayed alive in the knockout round when Dan + Shay used their steal to keep Lewis on the show.
