Alice Carolyn Gooding Pollock, 77, went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, May 7, 2024, while being cared for at Sutton’s Retirement Center. Carolyn was born in Wayne County to the late Benjamin and Sara Gooding on January 29, 1947. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Pollock; son, Johnnie Pollock; daughter, Missy Pollock Davis; brothers, Bobby Gooding and Jimmy Gooding; and sisters, Elouise Gooding Martin, Sandy Faye Gooding, and Ginger Faye Gooding.

Carolyn was a long-time member of Park East Church of God and recent years attended church with her daughter at Community Baptist Church.

A service to celebrate Carolyn’s life will be held on Thursday, May 9, 2024, at 7:00 p.m. in the sanctuary of Park East Church of God with Pastor Cullen Jarman and Pastor J. Wesley Jarman officiating. The family will greet friends following the service at the church.

Carolyn is survived by her daughter, Lori Carver, and husband, Aaron of Pikeville, and sisters, Peggy Howard of Goldsboro, Rachel Sawberger of Goldsboro, Linda Strickland of Florence, SC, and Brenda Boswell Butts of Ohio. She was raised with her late husband’s three grandchildren, Josh Davis, Chelsea Davis, and Brianna Pollock, and is also survived by grandchildren, Lauren Carver, Aaron Carver, Jr., Jonathan Pollock, Demeria Peterson, and James Spruill, Jr., and several great-grandchildren.

Services are entrusted to Seymour Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
