Multi-Agency Investigation Leads to Large Drug and Firearm Arrests

MOUNT OLIVE — An extensive investigation involving the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, the Goldsboro Police Department, the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigations (SBI), and the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco Firearms and Explosives (ATF) into the distribution of narcotics in the South East portion of Wayne County led to two arrests on May 2.

The investigating law enforcement entities executed a search warrant at 322 Horsepen Lane in Mount Olive with assistance from the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office SWAT team.

Following the service of the search warrant a trafficking amount of cocaine, marijuana, illicit Mushrooms, and 14 Firearms were seized. One of the firearms was reported to be stolen out in Wayne County whereas a separate firearm was found to be a potential sub-machine gun which is also known as a weapon of mass destruction.

Jordan Hase Johnston, 24, Mount Olive, was arrested on the scene and received no bond pending his first court appearance.

Johnston has been charged with felony possession with intent to manufacture, sell, and deliver schedule 1 substances, felony trafficking of marijuana, felony maintaining a dwelling for the sale of a controlled substance,  felony possession of a stolen firearm, and felony possession of a weapon of mass destruction.

Adrian Carr Purnell-Perkins, 23, Mount Olive, was arrested and charged with felony trafficking of cocaine and received a $75,000 secured bond. The investigation into this matter is ongoing, and there is the potential for additional arrests and or charges
