Fallen First Responders Remembered in Ceremony at WCC

The ultimate sacrifice paid by fallen local first responders was remembered during the annual “Honoring Our Fallen Heroes” ceremony on Wednesday evening at Moffatt Auditorium on the campus of Wayne Community College.

First Responders from the Arrington VFD, Thoroughfare VFD, Polly Watson VFD, City of Goldsboro Fire Department, Fremont Police Department, Pikeville Police Department, Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, Goldsboro Rescue and EMS, North Carolina State Highway Patrol and the Goldsboro Police Department represented the Fallen Heroes from the agencies as many family members came to remember and honor their loved ones.

Lieutenant Frank Faircloth (1960)

Officer Walter J. Rouse (1968)

Major Jay R. Memmelaar (2017)
