Murder Suspect in Saturday Morning Shooting Arrested

On Saturday morning at approximately 9:10, officers with the Goldsboro Police Department responded to a ShotSpotter alert at Kim’s Beauty Supply, at 718 E. Ash St. 

Upon the officers’ arrival, they located Kristopher Marquise Faison, 26, Goldsboro, in the parking lot suffering from a gunshot wound

Emergency Medical personnel responded and transported Faison to UNC Health Wayne where he was pronounced deceased.

The Goldsboro Police Department’s Investigative Services Bureau and Crime Scene Unit were contacted and responded to the scene. 

During the course of this investigation, a suspect was developed, and a warrant for First Degree Murder was secured by investigators. 

The suspect, identified as Hakeem Khalib Coley, 20, Goldsboro, was taken into custody in the 800 block of Olivia Lane without incident at approximately 7:19 p.m. on Saturday by the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office ACE Team. The warrant was served on Coley at the Wayne County Magistrate’s Office, and he was left in the custody of the Wayne County Detention Center under no bond pending a first appearance on Monday.
