Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Plants Trees for Arbor Day

The Empower Our Families and Enhance Our Environment Committees of Epsilon Phi Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated planted two trees for National Arbor Day on Friday.

Participants from the Youth Leadership Institute Program learned about the importance of planting trees and how to plant. The two trees were planted at the Dillard/Goldsboro Alumni Building to assist with beautifying the campus.

Casey’s Garden Center donated a crepe myrtle tree to the Sustaining Our Families Committee.  A beautiful Anne magnolia tree was donated by Jericho Nursery/ Landscape Designs to the Empower Our Family Committee.

The Chair of the Empower Our Family Committee is Ms. Annetter Wooten.  Tracy Lewis is the Co-Chair of the Committee.  Ms. Tamika Sanders is the Chair of the Enhance Our Environment Committee and Regina Harvey is Co-Chair.  Beverly Kee is President of the Epsilon Phi Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority,
