April 12, 2024, 73, Mount Olive —
Calvin Lee Rouse, Jr. age 73 of Oak Wolfe Community of Mt. Olive passed away Friday Morning, April 12, 2024, at ECU Healthcare of Keanasville with his family by his side.
He was born in Lenoir County to the late Calvin Lee Rouse & Dorothy Hines Rouse. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Timothy Rouse and Amanda Howard. Calvin was a hog farmer. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, cooking out, and spending time with his family. Calvin served the Oak Wolfe community as a Volunteer fireman with the Oak Wolfe Fire Dept. for 30-plus years. He was also a lifelong member of Long Ridge FWB Church.
Funeral Services will be held Sunday, April 14, 2024, at 5 PM in the Chapel of Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home with Rev. Kelvin Coates officiating. A time of visitation will follow the service in the chapel. A committal service will be held Tuesday, April 16, 2024, at 10:00 am at Wayne Memorial Park
He is survived by his wife, Gail Rouse of the home; son, James Lee Rouse and wife, Brenda; daughter, Rena Mason and husband, Steve; brother, L.R. Rouse and wife, Donna; sisters, Sue Tyndall and husband, Dennis, Billie Jo Dunn and husband, Ben; grandchildren, Ashley Jacobs and husband, Chris, Jeremy Rouse and fiancé, Emilee Mercer, Cassidy Mason, Lena Rouse; great-grandchildren, Haven Jacobs, Emma Rouse, Jordan Rouse, and Isabella Jacobs.
