Robert Roy Johnson, 70, passed away at Four Oaks Senior Living on Wednesday, April 10, 2024. Born in Wilson County on December 13, 1953, he was the son of the late James Thurman Johnson and Lena Fields Johnson.

In addition to his parents, Robert is preceded in death by his brother, Thurman Felix Johnson.

Robert is survived by his sister, Portia Lamm; niece, Darlene Crabtree; and nephew, Tim Johnson. Robert is also survived by a host of cousins that he loved dearly.

For 20 years, Robert was a member of the Kenly Volunteer Fire Department. He dedicated his life to service for his community. Robert was an avid UNC Tar Heels basketball fan and loved nothing more than kicking his feet up and watching a NASCAR race.

A graveside service to celebrate Robert’s life will be held on Tuesday, April 16, 2024, at 2 p.m. at Old Beulah Cemetery, 5884 Old Beulah Road, Kenly NC 27542. The family will receive friends following the service.
