April 9, 2024, 93, Princeton —

James Raeford Woodall, 93, was welcomed with open arms into Heaven at his home on Tuesday, April 9, 2024. Born in Johnston County on January 14, 1931, he was the son of the late Lynn B. and Mattie Faircloth Woodall.

In addition to his parents, Raeford was preceded in death by his loving wife, Madge Davis Woodall; and siblings, Leonard B. Woodall, Mattie Creech, Renna Lee, Thomas Woodall, Garland Woodall, Omega Green, Jenny Braswell, Flonnie Murphy, and Alice Pittman.

Raeford is survived by his daughter, Lynn Woodall McCoy of Hillsborough; his son, James Raeford Woodall, Jr. and wife, Linda of Hillsborough; grandchildren, Handley Elizabeth Woodall and Bryan D. McCoy; and several special nieces and nephews that he loved dearly.

The family will receive friends on Monday, April 15, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. in the fellowship hall of Princeton Baptist Church in Princeton. A service to honor James’s life will be held at 6:00 p.m. in the sanctuary with Rev. Dwayne Batten and Rev. Dennis Pollock officiating. Interment will be held on Tuesday, April 16, 2024, at 11:30 a.m. in the Princeton Cemetery.

Flowers are welcomed or the family suggests memorial contributions be directed to Princeton Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 215, Princeton, NC 27569, and the Princeton Baptist Church Senior Adults “Triple L’s”.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to all of Raeford’s caregivers, but especially to his primary physician and special nephews, Dr. Hal B. Woodall and Miss Pat Anderson, who have provided exceptional care and support for the last four years. The love and compassion shown towards Mr. Raeford is something the family will remember forever.
