March 25, 2024, 80, Goldsboro —

Carolyn Murphy Lee, age 80, passed peacefully on March 25, 2024, at Wayne Memorial Hospital. Born to the late Eula P. Murphy and Emmett Murphy, sister to the late Charles Murphy, wife to the late Nelson Elwood Lee, and mother to the late Terry Glenn Lee. A caretaker to many children, attended Mount Olive First Pentecostal Holiness Church and served many years in the childcare industry loving the community’s children as her own at Ms. Carolyn’s Preschool. 

A graveside service to celebrate Carolyn’s life will be held on Friday, March 29th at 1:00 pm at Wayne Memorial Park with Pastor Jeff Dail officiating. The family will greet friends on Friday from 12 pm until 12:45 pm at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home.

Carolyn is survived by her son, Michael Nelson Lee, and his companion, Mary Ann Wiggins; her daughter, Nancy Moore; her sister Lois Cox; her daughter-in-law, Teresa Lee; her grandchildren, Ashley and Dominique Lee,  Michael Nelson Lee Jr. and his wife Katherine Lee, Megan Lee and husband Chris Lee and Kevin Lee and girlfriend, Bethany Knowles and her great-grandchildren Atticus, Sampson, Gabe, and Jeramiah.
