Peter Robert Barden (Pete) formerly of the Grantham Community passed away Friday, March 22, 2024, at Fayetteville VA Medical Center at the age of 68.

A service to celebrate his life will be held Tuesday, March 26, 2024, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro with Reverend Dennis Pollock officiating. Burial will follow at Selah Christian Church Cemetery. The family will greet friends prior to the service from 1 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. at the funeral home.

Pete was born in Illinois to the late William D. Barden Sr. and Margie Williford Barden on July 19, 1955. He was a member of Riverside Free Will Baptist Church in Princeton where he attended while his health permitted. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force.

He leaves behind his brother, David Barden Jr. and wife, Clara of Virginia; two sisters, Sally Sierra and husband, Orlando of Florida and Gina Holmes and fiance, David Faircloth of Stedman; his nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends to cherish his memories.

The family is in the care of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro.
