March 13, 2024, 83, Mount Olive —

In the early morning hours on Wednesday, March 13, 2024, Betsy Perkins Hill went to her eternal reward.  She was receiving compassionate care at Kitty Askins Hospice Center when life on earth came to an end.

Betsy was a native of the Rosewood community, Goldsboro. She graduated from Rosewood High School and earned an associate in arts degree from Wayne Community College. She had been employed as an educational assistant in the kindergarten department at Rosewood Elementary School for most of her working career.

Her survivors include her husband, John Lloyd Hill, of the home in his native White Flash community, Mount Olive; a daughter, Wendy Hill Waters and husband, Marty, of Grantham; a son, Thomas Hill and wife, Angel, of Charleston, SC; and six grandchildren, Chris Hill, Joey Crane, Cameron Hill, Carson Crane, Helen Hill, and Grace Hill.

She was preceded in death by a son, John Lloyd Hill, Jr., and her parents, Oscar Stanton Perkins and Dorothy Ellis Perkins.

A service at which Betsy’s life will be remembered is scheduled for Saturday, March 16, at 6:00 p.m. at Tyndall Funeral Home in Mount Olive, with a time of visitation with the family to follow.
