Jacqueline Helen “Little Granny” McCarty, age 88, passed away Monday at ECU Health Medical Center in Greenville, NC. Born in Iowa City, IA, she was the daughter of the late Clarence Steger and Gertrude Meisenburg Steger.

A service to celebrate her life will be held Friday, March 15, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Dave Fishman officiating. A time of visitation for family and friends will be held immediately following the service at the funeral home.

Little Granny is survived by her sons, William George McCarty, Jr. (Vicky), Patrick M. McCarty, Kelly S. McCarty, Terry K. McCarty (Gail), Timothy A. McCarty, Sr. (Linda), and Christopher S. McCarty; her brothers, Andrew O. Steger and Clarence M. Steger; her grandchildren, Andrew, Megan, Shawn, Natosha, Matthew, Marcus, Patrick, Jr., James, Kati, Cody, Sara and Jennifer; 25 great-grandchildren.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughters, Catherine B. McCarty Luttrell, her son, Jason McCarty, and daughter Patty McCarty.
