A pair of Operation Medicine Drop events are being held this week.

The events are sponsored by the Goldsboro Police Department, the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, and Safe Kids Wayne County.

The first medicine drop event is on Wednesday from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 at Dudley Christian Church at 212 O’Berry Road. The second event is on Friday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Wayne County Health Department at 301 N. Herman Street.

Both events will have a drive-up and drop-off option.

All unused, unwanted, and expired prescriptions and over-the-counter medications will be accepted.

Anyone attending either medicine drop event is asked to leave medicines in their original containers. Marking out personal information including names, addresses, and telephone numbers is acceptable, but the name of the medication must be legible for logging purposes.
