Beautiful weather and a worthwhile cause brought a crowd to the Filling Station in downtown Goldsboro on Saturday afternoon for the annual St. Baldrick’s “Cuts for Cures” event.

The event saw 24 people volunteer to have their hair or beard shaved, and over $21,700 was raised to help fund research for childhood cancer.

Those in attendance enjoyed music, drinks, games, and WGBR on-air personality Jeff Farrow broadcast live, while also having his head shaved.

Over the past five years, the Goldsboro Elk’s Club has raised over $71,000 for the St. Baldrick’sFoundation.
