Early Morning Crash Sends Two to Hospital

Early Morning Crash Sends Two to Hospital

DUDLEY — A head-on collision early Monday morning on Emmaus Church Road sent two peopleto the hospital with a third person pinned in a vehicle.

Firefighters from Dudley and Arrington and several EMS units were dispatched to the scene of the head-on collision. Firefighters had to use their extraction tools to free the driver of a passenger vehicle.

A medevac helicopter responded to the scene to fly out the driver of the passenger vehicle. A section of Emmaus Church Road between Outlaw Road and Sleepy Creek Road was closed following the accident.

The white passenger vehicle was heading North on Emmaus Church Road and the Chevy SUV was heading South when they collided head-on in a slight curve.

An officer from the North Carolina Highway Patrol arrived on the scene to investigate the accident, and charges are pending following the outcome of the investigation.
