On Friday at approximately 7:07 a.m., the Goldsboro Police Department was dispatched to the westbound travel lanes of US 70 near William and Grantham streets for an overturned tractor-trailer on the highway.

The driver of the vehicle, Lamont Cobb, 46, Dudley, reported the load in his trailer shifted as he was merging around the curve and onto US 70 West, causing the trailer to land on its side and partially dump its contents onto the highway and surrounding median area.

Westbound travel lanes were closed to lift the trailer upright and clean up the dumped contents from the highway and median area. 

Cobb was cited for failure to reduce speed.
