Nancy Shannon Opphile, 70, passed away on Monday, February 19, 2024, at UNC Health Wayne. Born in Craven County on September 10, 1953, she was the daughter of the late William G. and Irene Laughinghouse Shannon.

Nancy is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Kenneth W. Opphile.

Nancy loved exploring her creative side through crafting and knitting. She also enjoyed the open road on motorcycle rides with her husband.

No formal services will be held.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to any charity that benefits the rescue and well-being of any and all animals.
