Willie Pierce Jr., 91, of Goldsboro passed away Thursday at ECU Health Medical Center. He is the son of the late Willie Elbert and Ethel Shotwell Pierce and the husband of the late Mildred L. Williams Pierce. Mr. Willie was a veteran of the United States Air Force and worked with his son as a brick mason. He is also a member of the American Legion and the DAV.

A service to celebrate his life will be held Friday, February 23, 2024, at 10:00 A.M. at the Eastern North Carolina Veteran’s Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home.

Willie is survived by his children, David Pierce of Goldsboro, Lynn Weir and husband, Doug of Altoona, PA; grandchildren, Rebecca Coor, Jordan Coor Bradshaw, Allen Coor, Katie Weir Taylor, David Weir; and 4 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, a daughter, Cindy Coor preceded him in death.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
