Larry Ruben Kammler, 75, passed away at his home on Tuesday, February 13, 2024. Born in Belleville, Illinois, he was the son of the late Karl Kammler and Mayme Roth Kammler. In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by his brother, Roger Kammler; and sister, Janice Stewart.

Larry is survived by his loving wife, Connie Laughlin Kammler; daughter, Brooke Kammler; sister-in-law, Lou Ann Pridgen and husband, Dexter; nieces and nephews, Casie Newsome, Sarah Gambella, Wendy Lee, April Kammler, Dale Kammler, Dana Link, Steven Stewart, Todd Stewart, and their families. Larry is also survived by special cousins, Jim Laughlin, Bruce Laughlin, and Kay Krochta.

For over 20 years, Larry served his country in the United States Air Force as a pilot. Larry had a keen and deep appreciation for the opportunities that the Air Force provided. Upon his retirement from the Air Force, Larry could still be seen in a cockpit flying internationally for UPS. When not in the air, Larry could be seen around his house working on several different projects. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed the outdoors. He would enjoy fishing trips, especially to Canada. Larry could also be seen in Chapel Hill, cheering on his UNC Tar Heels.

Larry’s love for his family knew no bounds. He cherished each moment spent together with them. Larry will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and friend to all he met.

A graveside service to celebrate Larry’s life will be held on Tuesday, February 20, 2024, at the Eastern Carolina State Veterans Cemetery at 2 p.m. The family will receive friends prior to the service, from 12 until 1:30 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home.
