Rose Elizabeth Riccardi Gambella, 91. With great sadness, we announce the loss of our dearest mother, Rose. Born in Brooklyn, New York to the late Joseph and Pauline Riccardi on January 27, 1933, she is also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Americo “Sookie” Gambella.
Rose was called to be a wife and a mother, and she lived out that calling in everything she did. She loyally cherished her husband and together they built a wonderful life. Her greatest treasures were her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Friday, February 9, 2024 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 10, 2024 at St. Mary Catholic Church with Fr. Roch T. Drozdzik presiding. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.
Rose is survived by her daughter, Toni Ann Gambella Sileno of Raleigh; sons, Paul Gambella and wife, Pat, Bobby Gambella and wife, Anne Marie, and Steven Gambella and wife, Deborah, all of Goldsboro; thirteen grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers, Joseph Riccardi and wife, Joan, and Daniel Riccardi.
