Jimmy Garland Creech, 81, passed away on Tuesday, February 6, 2024 at UNC Chapel Hill.
Jimmy retired as a supervisor with Kemp Furniture and later worked with Goldtex, Channel Master, and Walmart. He had been a member of Tabernacle Pentecostal Holiness Church in Goldsboro and was attending Tee’s Chapel Free Will Baptist Church.
A service to celebrate Jimmy’s life will be held on Monday, February 12, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Tee’s Chapel F.W.B. Church, 6439 Brogden Rd., Smithfield with Rev. Dennis Pollock officiating. The interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday following the service at the cemetery.
Mr. Creech is survived by his daughters, Janet Creech, and special friend, Michael Hanna of Atlanta, GA, and Phyllis Creech Nethercutt and husband, Gene Nethercutt of Goldsboro; grandchildren, Anthony Evans and Lauren Evans; and a great-grandchild, Preston Evans. He is also survived by a sister, Christine Creech Smith of Goldsboro, and several nieces and nephews he loved very much.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Annie Jean Smith Creech, and sister, Patsy Creech Gurley.
