Elma Dare Rose Snipes, 93, of Burlington, NC, passed away on Saturday, February 3, 2024.  She was born in Wayne County and was the daughter of the late Benjamen Herman and Ola Dare Sasser Rose. Mrs. Snipes was the widow of Royce Lester Snipes.  In addition to her husband, parents, and infant son, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Marie Phillips and Charlene Rose.

She was a member of St. John’s Baptist Church in Raleigh where she served in many capacities including the nursery and with the four and five years old.  She helped with serving meals for the different needs or occasions at the church.  She was a LPN and worked at hospitals and a dermatologist’s office when she wasn’t raising her children. She enjoyed crocheting, especially helping crochet mats for the homeless using plastic grocery bags; traveling, and playing games.

Mrs. Snipes is survived by daughters; Elma Beth Snipes Sharpe and husband Steve of Loudon TN, Vickie Snipes Richard and husband David, grandchildren; Mary Dare Olsen and husband Steve, Phillip Eugene Pardue and wife Leia, Teresa Nichole Greco and husband Travis, Tara Rose Greco, great grandchildren; Kaylee Dare Olsen, Hunter Robert Olsen, Adelyn Rose Elmore, Elijah Bane Elmore, Royce Pennington Smith and several Nieces and Nephews.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm, on Tuesday, February 6, 2024, at Casey Funeral Home & Cremations.  The Funeral Service will be conducted at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Casey Funeral Home & Cremations with the Reverend Dr. Richard Wynne officiating.  A Private Burial will be held at the Princeton Cemetery.
