Thomas B. Wood, III, 63, of Dudley, NC passed on Friday, January 26, 2024, at UNC Health Wayne Hospital in Goldsboro, NC.

Tom was born in Trenton, NJ on October 28, 1960. He is the oldest son of the late Thomas B. Wood, Jr. and Pamela F. Wood of Lebanon, PA. He attended school in Allentown, NJ, and later graduated in Walthill, NE, where he married his longtime girlfriend, Pamela A. Wood on January 27, 1980. He joined the United States Marine Corps and was stationed at Camp Lejeune. After leaving the service, he worked as a Crew Foreman with Princeton Nurseries in Allentown, NJ.

The family moved to Goldsboro, NC where he worked as a nursery foreman in landscape design and a foreman at Cox-Edwards Construction Company. He was a security officer and worked loss prevention at the Berkeley Mall as well as being a sales manager at Wireless Zone.

Tom’s Major accomplishments in his life were:
• FCC License Class KF4SES
• Ares County EC, County AEC
• Red Cross Sheller Command Operator
• Morse Code Operator
• Staff Sergeant in the U.S.M.C

Tom loved spending his free time with his family and friends. He enjoyed fishing, hiking, and camping.

Tom is preceded in death by his father, Thomas B. Wood, Jr. He is survived by his mother, Pamela F. Wood; wife of 44 years, Pamela A. Wood of NC; son, Andrew R. Wood of NC; daughter, Amy M. Cerrito of NC; son-in-law, Juan C. Cerrito of NC; sisters, Valerie Whealton of NC and Lillian Brown of Iowa; and brothers Shawn Wood of NC and Barry Wood of NC; several grandchildren; Kevin Kearny, Brian Kohls, II, Andrew Wood, Ramon Cerrito, Rosalinda Cerrito and Juan Cerrito; along with many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends for a time of visitation from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Friday, February 2, 2024 at Seymour Funeral Home.
