January 27, 2024, 85, Goldsboro —
Helen Page Thomas Brown was relieved of the cares of this world and entered her eternal home on Saturday, January 27, 2024. She was born on January 8, 1939, to the late Robert and Bliss Butts Thomas. In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her son, Daryl Thomas; brother, Kenneth Ray Thomas; and sister, Carolyn Faye Thomas.
Helen devoted her life to the care of her family. She tried her best to maintain connections with all of them, taking an interest in their lives and showing her constant support. A great cook, she looked forward to every opportunity to gather her family around the kitchen table to share in food and conversation.
Helen’s most admirable attribute was her love for her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She was the first to tell you she wasn’t perfect and had made plenty of mistakes. What Helen did have was the love of God in her. And she was constantly grateful for his mercy and sacrifice through Jesus. Ultimately, though, Helen is where she craved to be for so long, at home with her Savior.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 1, 2024, from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home followed by a service to celebrate Helen’s life at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel with Rev. Barry Teague officiating. Interment will be in Wayne Memorial Park.
Helen is survived by her children, Glenn Thomas and wife, Ennette, Sonya Brown, Charles Brown and Paula Brown; nine grandchildren, Glenn Thomas II, Ginny Lyn Thomas, Tyler Thomas, Travis Thomas, Nathaniel Thomas, Kaiden Person, Joshua McKown, Paige Gallaher, John Powell, Amir Almojadid, Brittany Johnson and Brandon Johnson; eight great-grandchildren, Amber Turner, Jacob Thomas, Israel Thomas, Kaleb McKown, Brooklyn Wade, King Wade, Trinity Johnson and Helen Hope; and great-great-grandchildren, Haven Corbett, Mason Corbett, Alisyn Corbett and Landon Corbett. She is also survived by her special nieces, Teresa Best and Regina Tucci; and special cousin, Wanda Dawson, who was raised like a sister to Helen.
