Willie Joe Smith, 75, of Goldsboro passed away Monday, January 29, 2024, at UNC Health Wayne in Goldsboro.

No formal service will be held at this time.

Mr. Smith was born in Alabama on May 5, 1948. He was a veteran of the United States Army having served during Vietnam, Operation Just Cause, and Desert Storm.

He is survived by his wife, Elsie Lechner Smith, and a host of other relatives and friends.

The family is in the care of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro.
