Saturday Night Wreck Sends Driver to the Hospital

DUDLEY — Around midnight on Saturday, firefighters from Dudley along with EMS Station 8 paramedics were dispatched to the scene of a single-vehicle accident on Ruskin Road between Sleepy Creek Road and Outlaw Road.

When first responders arrived on the scene they found a Jeep had run off the road and overturned several times before coming to a stop on the passenger side door. Firefighters had to use a saw to cut away the windshield to gain access to the driver who was still inside the vehicle.

After a few minutes of extraction work the driver was removed from the vehicle and taken to the hospital. After a short time, a North Carolina State Trooper arrived on the scene to start his investigation.
