January 21, 2024, 69, Holly Springs —

August 7, 1954 – January 21, 2024

James “Jimmy” Paul Randolph, 69, passed away on Sunday, January 21, 2024. Jimmy was born in Little Washington, Pennsylvania to the late Edward Paul and Margaret Weaver Randolph on August 7, 1954.

Jimmy’s life was one of eccentricity and enormity. Anything he did, he put his whole spirit into it. His life was one of life-long learning, especially when it came to computers. With a sense of humor admired by all, he could keep you laughing in any situation.

With a tremendous fascination for bugs, Jimmy spent much time studying insects, spiders, and anything creepy and crawly. He knew the identity of nearly all he came in contact with and had a vast collection of intriguing photographs.

Jimmy’s playful spirit and joy found in life were infectious to those around him. Spending time in various parks with his son, Jarrod, while he was growing up and playing in the yard with his granddaughter, Kira, were simple and profound moments of his day-to-day life.

With an eclectic interest in music, Jimmy’s playlist would usually include music of the 1970s from artists including Al Stewart and the Allen Parsons Project, along with quite a bit of gospel. The voices of Sandi Patti, Mahala Jackson, Carmen, and Michael Card were among his favorites in Christian Music.

Connecting with others was always important for Jimmy, and Facebook was his method of ensuring that he knew what was going on with all of his friends. His day started and ended with browsing his news feed, and he often checked in on those he hadn’t seen posted in a while.

At home, family time around the table was a blessing and brought much pleasure for Jimmy. Vic’s cooking was second to none in Jimmy’s mind. Her cheesy grits and burger bombs were always a favorite for Jimmy.

Having compassion for others, friends and family knew they could count on Jimmy in their time of need. His heart for others was enormous, and his listening ear was full of concern. To know Jimmy was to know you had a friend.

The family will celebrate Jimmy’s life in a private setting at a later date.

Jimmy is survived by his son, Jarrod Patrick Randolph, and girlfriend, Victoria “Vic” Reeves; and granddaughter, Kira Catherine Randolph.
