Garry Cooper Howell, 65, passed away at Kitty Askins Hospice Center on Tuesday, January 23, 2024. Born in Wayne County on June 6, 1958, he was the son of the late D.R. Howell and Margaret Rowe Howell.

Garry is survived by his children, Jennifer Nicole Howell and Clint Howell, and wife, Theresa; grandchildren, Jacob Howell and Eli Howell; brothers, Jerry Howell and Donald Howell; and sister, Sue Howell.

Garry will always be remembered as a master carpenter. His love for woodworking was evident in how he would meticulously approach each job, striving for perfection. When not working, Garry enjoyed the outdoors, including fishing, hunting, and water skiing in his younger days. Garry enjoyed watching fast cars, especially NASCAR, and down at the local drag strip.

A graveside service to celebrate Garry’s life will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2024, at 11 a.m. at the Howell Family Cemetery off Oakland Church Road. The family will receive friends the evening prior on Friday, January 26, 2024, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home.
