Late Sunday afternoon firefighters from Dudley, Arrington, and Mar-Mac along with Wayne County EMS Station 8 were dispatched to the scene of a possible structure fire on Van Drive just off of U.S. 117 Alt across from Brogden Middle School.
As firefighters and EMS personnel arrived on the scene they found a small structure building behind a residence destroyed and the fire was heading towards the woods.
Firefighters quickly extinguished the blaze in about 30 minutes. Fire officials on the scene believe the cause of the fire was a burn barrel sitting near the structure.
