Arts Council of Wayne County Awards Subgrants

The Arts Council of Wayne County recently awarded subgrants from the Grassroots Arts Programs [GAP] and the American Rescue Plan Act [ARPA] to 12 local organizations.

This Arts Council of Wayne County GAP subgrant recipients are Goldsboro, Ballet, The Paramount Theatre Foundation, Stage Struck: The Young People’s Own Theatre, Starlight Dance Band, III Century Singers, Boys and Girls Club of Goldsboro, and Friends of the Peggy M. Seegars Senior Center.

The ARPA subgrant recipients are Starlight Dance Band, Goldsboro Ballet, Boys and Girls Club of Goldsboro, Downtown Goldsboro Development Corporation, and Wayne County Public Schools.

“We are delighted to allocate these subgrants from the Grassroots Arts Programs [GAP] and the American Rescue Plan Act [ARPA] to commendable organizations,” Arts Council of Wayne County Executive Director, Jack Kannan said. “Their unwavering efforts significantly contribute to fostering art accessibility in our community, making the arts a fundamental part of our shared cultural experience.”

The Arts Council of Wayne County is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit that ensures the arts thrive
in Wayne County. The funds from the GAP and the ARPA come from the North Carolina Arts
Council which provides per capita-based funding for arts programming.

“The mission of our organization is to ensure the arts thrive in our county,” Anna Hinson, the Programs Director of the Arts Council of Wayne County said. “That doesn’t mean only Arts Council of Wayne County programming… but all arts programming in our county!”
