Our father, Bobby Ray Dail (85), peacefully left us on January 4, 2024, at UNC Health Johnston, surrounded by his family. Bobby was a dedicated, hardworking, loving, and giving father of solid character who left his mark on the lives of so many and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. He proudly served our great country as a soldier in the United States Army and was a valued employee of DuPont for nearly 30 years.

He left behind his loving daughters Elizabeth Brown (Wayne) of Goldsboro, Laura Manley (Troy) of Chester, Virginia, Page Kennedy (Mike) of Chester, Virginia; grandchildren Stacey Hinnant (Drew), Justin Brown (Rebekah), Jordan Brown (Brittany), Joshua Mangano, Matthew Mangano (Jasmine), Nicholas Mangano (Katey), Landon Mangano, Elliott Manley, Shea Manley, Kirsten Cardwell (Shawn), Carter Mayes, Sara Kennedy (Braden), and Lauren Ryan (Steve); and 14 great-grandchildren; brothers Delna Dail and wife Betty of Sun City Center, Florida, Ralph Dail and wife Pat of Reidsville, and sister-in-law Nolah Ann Dail of Snow Hill; step-daughters, Wendy Lockwood (Bryan) of Raleigh and Michelle Best (Brian) of Pikeville; 4 step-grandchildren; special friend and companion Faye Holmes of LaGrange and Daddy’s best backyard buddies, Brayden and Ethan Best.

Bobby is preceded in death by his wife, Gale Gurley Dail; parents, Pete Sr. and Rosa Mae Dail; his brothers, Pete Dail Jr. and William Dail; and his sisters, Earline Sugg and Grace Murphrey.

The family will welcome visitors at Evergreen Funeral Home in Goldsboro on Sunday, January 7, 2024, at 1 PM, with funeral services immediately following at 2 PM. Fellowship will follow the conclusion of the graveside service at the home of Drew and Stacey Hinnant in Pikeville.

The family would like to thank you for your prayers and support during this time of grief. Your shared memories, comforting words, and gestures of love are truly appreciated.
