Two Arrested Following Altercation at Tommy’s Road Walmart

On Friday at approximately 2:09 p.m., the Goldsboro Police Department received a call regarding a disturbance and armed subject in the parking lot at the Walmart Neighborhood Market at 1144 Tommy’s Road.

Law enforcement from the Goldsboro Police Department and Wayne County Sheriff’s Office responded to the area. After a preliminary investigation, two subjects, Claudedarris Woods, 23, and Donesia Sanders, 25, were located in a vehicle in the parking lot.

After a consent search, a firearm was recovered from the vehicle. It was later determined a verbal altercation occurred in the Walmart parking lot involving Woods and Sanders located in the aforementioned vehicle, followed by the brandishing of a firearm.

There were no injuries reported and no shots fired. As a result of the initial call and response, Tommy’s Road Elementary and Wayne Preparatory Academy were briefly placed on a soft lockdown. The lockdown was lifted after the arrival of law enforcement and determination that there was no active disturbance.

Woods was arressted and charged with going armed to the terror of the public, carrying a concealed gun and possession of a firearm by a felon. Sanders was arrested and charged with carrying a concealed weapon.

After the arrest process, it was determined that the male offender provided a fictitious name of Claudedarris Woods to law enforcement. His correct name is Jair Tysheen Kornegay, 27.

The charges against Claudedarris Woods will be dismissed. Kornegay was arrested while still in custody at the Wayne County Detention Center. Kornegay was also charged with resisting a public officer and identity theft for the fictitious information provided to law enforcement.
