Camille Jane Rauch Smith, 79, passed away at Wayne UNC Healthcare on January 2, 2024. Born in Clearfield, Pennsylvania on September 17, 1944, she was the daughter of the late James Rauch and Dorothy Kramer Rauch.

Camille is survived by her children, Theodore R. Zeigler, Susan C. Boswell and husband, Keith, and Heather Ham and husband, Jamie; grandchildren, Lindsay Zeigler, Alexander Alves, Timothy Zeigler and wife, McKenzie, Aaron Alves and wife, McKayla, Matthew Ham, Maura Ham, Mallory Ham, and Addison Zeigler; and great-grandchildren, Abbott Alves, Stella Zeigler, Alaina Alves, Claire Zeigler, Anna Alves, and Colton Zeigler. Camille is also survived by her brother, Gary Rauch, and wife, Kim, many nieces and nephews, special friends, Jerry Alves, Ruth Batchelor, Marcia Mitchell, Steve and Valerie Keefer, and their children, Levi and Anabelle.

Camille worked as a registered nurse at Wayne Memorial Hospital for 30 years prior to retiring. She loved traveling all over, but the mountains held a special place in her heart. Camille could regularly be seen out shopping, finding the best deals out there. She also enjoyed doing crafts in her spare time, oftentimes sewing and knitting. Camille also had a special love of eating out. She will fondly miss her visits to Logan’s, Firehouse Subs, Highway 55, and Pizza Inn.

Nothing was more important to Camille than her family. Her love for them knew no bounds and each moment spent together with them was a memory she cherished forever. Camille will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

A service to celebrate Camille’s life will be held Saturday, January 6, 2024, at 11 a.m. at Bethel Church with internment following the service at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation the evening prior, January 5, 2024, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home.
