Esther Marie Boyd peacefully passed away Thursday, December 21, 2023, at home with her loving family. Born April 18, 1935, in Lenoir County, she was the daughter of the late Preston Paul Williams and Esther Worthington Williams.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank John Boyd, brother, Bobby Williams, and sister LaVonne Watts.

Esther loved her family and would always play an active role in her children’s activities. If there was any school function, she would definitely be found there. Not only did she love her family, but she had a special place in her heart for children. She was a regular contributor to the Free Will Baptist Orphanage of Middlesex, NC, and was also a member of the Navy Wives Club.

Her collection of frogs was to be admired. She had all sizes of frogs, even crystal frogs. Each frog had its own story and she loved to share the beauty and detail of each one. Her love for beauty carried on to her love for daisies. It didn’t matter what color, if it was a daisy, she absolutely loved it.

She leaves a legacy of love to her children, Forrest Kinsey Jr. (Kimberly), Randy Kinsey, Darla Kinsey, and Frank Boyd (Michele); grandchildren, Amber, Alex, Stephanie, Joseph, and Amelia; 4 great-grandchildren; brothers, Preston Williams and Jack Bolton; brothers-in-law, Harry Boyd and Albert Hauser; and a host of other relatives and friends.

A service to celebrate her life will take place Wednesday, January 3, 2024, at 12:30 pm at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Andy Stovall officiating. Burial will be placed at the Eastern Carolina State Veterans Cemetery at 2:00 pm.
