December 21, 2023, 63, Albertson —

Audrey Thompson Taylor, 63, a resident of Albertson, and known as Shaggy to most and Cookie to a few,  passed away at home on Thursday, December 21, 2023.

Audrey was a member of the 1979 graduating class of East Duplin High School. and she attended Lenoir Community College.  She was employed with Electrolux of Kinston and was a member of Albertson Missionary Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Hubert Aubrey Thompson and Arline Jones Thompson, and by her beloved in-laws, R. J. and Elsie Outlaw Taylor.

Audrey is survived by her husband of 43 years, Richie K. Taylor, of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Crystal T. and Jason Heath of Albertson; a son, Dustin Taylor of Albertson; grandchildren, Gunner Keith Taylor of Wilson, Sarah Sailer and husband, Josh, of Atlanta, Ga.., Dillon Varker, Allie Varker, and Nicholas Varker, all of Albertson; two brothers, Donnie Stegal and wife, Virginia, of Clinton, and Tommy Thompson of Deep Run.

Visitation will be at Albertson Missionary Baptist Church on Tuesday, December 26, beginning at 2 p.m., with funeral services following at 3 p.m.  Officiating will be the church pastor, the Rev. Eric Murray. Burial will be in the R.A. Taylor Family Cemetery.   Friends and relatives are also being received at the residence.
