December 15, 2023, 93, Middlesex —

Ludie Brewer Renfrow, 93, went to be with her Lord on Friday, December 15, 2023, at her home, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Nash County on December 6, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Zettie Brewer Gifford.

In addition to her mother, Ludie was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Charlie Renfrow.

Ludie is survived by her daughters, Pamela Wilson and husband, T.B. of Kenly, Dale Renfrow of the home, Lynn Moss and husband, Ricky of Wendell; son, Rev. Jasper Renfrow and wife, Sandra; grandchildren, Crystal W. Oravits and husband, Chris, Jason Renfrow and wife, Amy, and Derek Wilson and wife, Lee Anna; great-grandchildren, Austin Oravits, Colby Oravits, JonAvery Oravits, Davis Renfrow, J.P. Renfrow, and Katie Wilson.

Ludie was a member of New Jerusalem Free Will Baptist Church in Kenly. She worked for many years with J & J Apparel in Kenly.

Ludie sang with her family that made up The New Jerusalem Way Singers for over 20 years. She was chosen as the Queen of Gospel Music by the East Coast Gospel Music Association in 1987.

Ludie loved her family and will be remembered as a faithful wife, mother, and granny.

A graveside service to celebrate Ludie’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, December 18, 2023, at the Renfrow Family Cemetery with her son, Rev. Jasper Renfrow officiating. The family will receive friends following the graveside service.
