MOUNT OLIVE — Before Noon on Saturday, firefighters from Mount Olive and several EMS units were dispatched to the scene of a two-vehicle accident involving a utility truck and a passenger car on U.S. 117 Alt near Pineland Ave., just north of Mount Olive.
Firefighters from Dudley and Calypso were dispatched to the scene to assist in operation and traffic control. The lady driving the passenger car was extracted and rushed to a medivac helicopter at the Mount Olive Airport where she was flown out.
The driver of the overturned truck was also taken to receive medical attention. The accident is being investigated by the North Carolina Highway Patrol.
