December 1, 2023, 66, Dudley —
Keith Brian Thompson was born on March 08, 1957, to the late Geneva Thompson Hayletts in Dudley, North Carolina. He attended Wayne County Public Schools until he moved to Cedarhurst, New York, and graduated from Lawerence High School in 1975. A few years later Keith joined the army. He traveled overseas for some time until he was ultimately stationed at Walter Reed in Washington, DC. While in the DC area, Keith met his wife Samantha and had two children.
Keith had an infectious spirit, when he walked into the room you knew immediately. You either heard him or saw his big grin. He couldn’t help but make people laugh, and it was always a good time to be around him. Going back home to Dudley to laugh and hang with his cousins was one of his favorite things to do. He loved to cook on the grill, watch and talk about sports, and was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. Keith and his family were very close, his most precious times were spent at home together.
Keith was called home on December 1, 2023, at the age of 66 in Gaithersburg, Maryland. He is now resting in peace with no more pain and suffering. He was a strong and courageous fighter who never gave up. Despite the pain, Keith remained strong and always kept a smile on his face. He loved his family, and all those who were blessed to know him felt his love.
He is preceded in death by his mother Geneva Thompson Hayletts, brothers Jerry Thompson, Billy Ray Thompson, and sister Carolyn Bundy who he was able to connect with in his later years.
Keith leaves behind his wife Samantha Bravo Thompson, children Keith and Kiaya Thompson, sister Deborah Thompson, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, and dear friends. Too many to name. He will be missed very much but we will honor his memory and cherish the moments forever.
