December 6, 2023, 77, Eureka —

Carl Yelverton, 77, passed away at Duke University Hospital on Wednesday night. He was a native of Wayne County and was born to the late Virginia Flowers Yelverton and Robert Yelverton. Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by his siblings Hardy Yelverton, Donna Dupuy, and Jerry Yelverton.

A time of visiting and sharing with the family will be held on Sunday, December 10th in the evening from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Eureka Methodist Church. A graveside service honoring Carl will be held at 11:00 am Monday, December 11th in Eureka Cemetery.

Carl is survived by his wife, Betsy Thomas Yelverton; three daughters, Amanda Gray and husband Christopher, Ashley Stutts and husband Josh, and Amy Langston and husband Mike, a sister Edna Braswell, five grandchildren, Presley Gray, Allie-Christyn Gray, Maddux Gray, Carlynne Stutts, and Nora Stutts.
