December 3, 2023, 86, Goldsboro —

Betty Louise Newsome, 86, of Goldsboro departed this earthly life Sunday, December 3, 2023, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro surrounded by her loving family.

 A private service will be held for the family.

Mrs. Newsome was born in West Virginia on November 15, 1937, to the late Walter and Nellie Howard Woosley.

Cherishing her memories are her two sons, Ronnie Branson Jr. and wife, Darlene of Goldsboro and David Allen Branson and wife, Dawn of Grantham; two sisters, Mildred Thacker and husband, Jerry of Tennessee and Frances Farris and husband, Larry of Illinois; twelve grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Walter “Buddy” Woosley, and four sisters, Roxie Jarvis, Shiela Robinette, Pauline Woosley, and Shirley Day.

The family is in the care of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro.
