It is with great sadness we announce that Thomas David (Dave) Potter, 69, is resting from his labors.

Dave was born in Lake Charles, Louisiana to the late Annie Lou Smith Potter and Thomas Angus Potter. He retired as a Data Base Administrator from Bellsouth/AT&T in Roanoke, VA, before returning home to Goldsboro, NC in 2013 to be with his family. Dave dearly loved his family, especially his grandchildren. They gave him great joy when they visited. He also loved his dogs, Stella and Brewster. They will miss him dearly also. Dave was passionate about music and playing his guitars along with gardening and cooking. He also loved hunting and fishing in his younger years.

A funeral service will be held Friday, December 1st at 1:00 pm in Evergreen Funeral Home Cemetery & Cremation Chapel with the family greeting friends and family from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm prior to the service.

Mr. Potter is survived by his wife, Beverly “Jean” Potter of Goldsboro, NC. A daughter Jennifer Marie Smith and husband Tolliver of Trinity, NC, a son Christopher Thomas Potter and wife Kristina of Goldsboro, NC, four grandchildren Callie Smith and Emerson Smith, Teigan Potter and Keiley Nelson, two sisters, Terry Mears and husband Bill, Rhonda Potter, and a Nephew Jason Mears.
