November 21, 2023, 66, Zebulon —

Tammy Diane Rhodes, 66, formerly from Zebulon, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at Wake Medical Center in Raleigh.  She was born August 23, 1957, in Wake County to the late Ben Allen Rhodes and Hilda Pittman Rhodes.  She was predeceased in death by her lifelong partner Kirt Duke.

Tammy is survived by her sister, Sheri Rhodes Weathers (Bob); sister-in-law, Joy Weathers (Joe); niece Faith Weathers Worthington (Luke); special cousin, Rhonda Hope McNeill; Aunt Judy Davis and Aunt Peggy Debnam.

Tammy made lifelong friendships during her long administrative career at USF&G, Devil Dog, and SECU.  She retired from SECU in June 2021 after 24 years of service in H.R.

She loved classic old movie films, collecting memorabilia of the British Royal Family, especially Princess Diana, and illustrations from artist Mary Engelbriet.  She loved listening to old-time rock-n-roll music.

A special thank you to her close friends, Terri McGraw (family) and Kimmie Frazier.

Tammy had a beautiful smile and a sweet spirit.  We find comfort and peace knowing she is reunited with her beloved Buddy (Kirt).

A memorial service is planned for late January at the Woodall Family Cemetery.
