On Nov. 28 at approximately 3:28 a.m., officers with the Goldsboro Police Department were dispatched to the 100 block of Astor Court in reference to a ShotSpotter alert for multiple rounds.

Once on the scene, a nine-year-old female victim was found inside the residence of 117 Astor Court with an apparent gunshot wound to the lower extremity. EMS responded to the scene and the juvenile victim was transported to UNC Health Wayne.

The victim was transported to ECU Health for further medical treatment. The victim was in a serious condition. Investigators and crime scene specialists from the Goldsboro Police Department responded to the scene.
