Raymond Earl Perry, 66, of Smithfield passed away at his home on Sunday, November 19, 2023.  He was born in Wilson County on November 26, 1956, to the late Ray Earl Perry and Joann Bissette Mustgrave.  In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Ray Perry.

Raymond invented an electric car, the Gage 200.  He loved to buy and sell cars, and he also enjoyed his work and had a passion for construction.  He was known as “Framin Raymond”.  His family was very important to him and he always had time to take his grandchildren to many places.  He enjoyed fishing whenever he could go and he was known as a “Jack of all Trades”.  More than anything, he cherished and loved his wife, Patricia.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia Pate Perry; son, Rodney Earl Perry of Smithfield; daughters, Olivia Dawn Bizzell (Tracy) of Princeton, and Rebecca Gilantzis (Charlie) of Lucama; brothers, Connie Perry (Renee) of Princeton and Mack Perry (Laurie) of Pine Level; sisters, Joyce Ann Mincey (Rupert) of Zebulon and Tammy Massengill (Vernon) of Selma; grandchildren, Courtney Dawn Johnson (Andrew), Nickolaos Gilantzis, Samantha Gilantzis, Athena Gilantzis, MacKensie Perry and Payton Perry; one great-grandchild, Kennedy Johnson and numerous nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be conducted at 6:00 PM, Friday, November 24, 2023, in the chapel of Casey Funeral Home and Cremations with Pastor Roger Banks officiating.  A private committal will be in the  Micro Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm on Friday, November 24, 2023, at Casey Funeral Home and Cremations.
