Elsie Minton Graham, 89, passed away on Friday, November 17, 2023, at her home, surrounded by her family. Born in Wayne County on January 30, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Herbert and Mary Effie Wadsworth Minton.

In addition to her parents, Elsie was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Donald R. Graham; four sisters; and two brothers.

Elsie is survived by her daughter, Yvette Truman of Clayton; son, Randy Graham and wife, Barbara, of Goldsboro; three grandchildren, Steven Truman and wife, Jennifer, Mandy Fahrni and husband, Jeremy, and Don Graham III and wife, Alyson; eight great-grandchildren, Joshua Fahrni, Kyle Fahrni, William Graham, Evan Graham, Clifford James Truman, Gwendolyn Sarah Truman, Leonard Junius Truman, and Marvin Jasper Truman; and sister, Judy Turner. She also has many nephews, nieces, and extended family members. Elsie is dearly loved and missed by those who loved and knew her.

Elsie was a homemaker and in years past served as head sales clerk with Big Star. She was a dedicated and faithful member of Eureka Christian Church in the Grantham Community when her health allowed.

Elsie enjoyed working on various word searches and jigsaw puzzles. She quilted and crocheted many items that she provided to her family and friends.

Elsie was an avid Atlanta Braves Baseball fan. She watched every game and was always eager to talk baseball with her friends. Most recently, Elsie was able to watch this year’s World Series Game.

A service celebrating and remembering Elsie’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at Eureka Christian Church with the Rev. Frank Purvis officiating. Interment will follow in Wayne Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. in the hour prior to the service in the church fellowship hall.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Rev. Frank Purvis for the love and care he showed towards Elsie over the years.
