Margaret Pauline Herman Boyles, 92, passed away on Wednesday, November 15, 2023, at the SECU Hospice House in Smithfield. Born in Forsyth County on December 17, 1930, to the late Rudolph H. and Lizzie Smith Herman.

In addition to her parents, Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Grady Eugene Boyles; brothers, James Herman, William Herman, and Fred Herman.

Margaret is survived by her brothers, Robert Herman and Thomas Herman; sister, Ann Johnson; several nieces and nephews; and numerous beloved friends whom she considered her extended family.

Margaret was a well-known fixture in the Micro Community. She was lovingly referred to by many as the “Honorary Mayor of Micro.” If something was going on in town, she knew about it.

A celebration of Margaret’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 18, 2023, in the Family Life Center at Micro Original Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Gary Bailey and Rev. Duane Casey officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the church.  Interment at the Kenly Cemetery will be held at a later date.
