Lillie Mae Taylor, affectionately known as “Aunt Lillie”, was born on November 10, 1925, to the late Alice Tabron and James “Jean” Taylor in Fremont, NC. She transitioned from her earthly home to eternal life on November 4th, 2023 at her home surrounded by family whom she loved dearly.
Lillie gave her life to the Lord at a young age. She was reared in the Primitive Baptist Church, and hymns from the Primitive Baptist Hymnal always rang loudly in her heart. She became a member and proud mother at First Missionary Baptist Church in Fremont, NC, and remained faithful and committed until her health declined.
Lillie received her education in Wayne County Public Schools. Soon after, she began her career in domestics, where she took pride in cleaning, cooking, and caring for children. Lillie was a nurturer by nature and was known throughout her career for this special skill set. She faithfully served families for 40 years until her retirement.
Following retirement, Lillie dedicated her life to her flowers and gardening. She took pride in having a beautiful yard and being known around town for her vast array of flowers. When she wasn’t tending to her garden, she could be found watching her stories or talking on the phone to her loved ones and closest friends.
