DUDLEY – On the afternoon of Oct. 27, firefighters afternoon from Dudley and Mount Olive responded to a wood fire on Ruskin Road near Brewington Road to a wood fire behind several residents’ houses.
Using several brush trucks and tankers, firefighters managed to keep the fire from spreading any deeper into the woods. The North Carolina Forest Service was called to assist the firefighters in controlling the blaze.
