G. Eleanor Hepworth, 82, passed away at the SECU Hospice House on Sunday, October 22, 2023, surrounded by her family. Born in Johnston County on February 24, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Charles Ruffin Hales and Gencie Davis Hales.

Eleanor loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She was an ordained minister and was always willing to share the Gospel. For many years, Eleanor would lead a church service at the Joseph E. Price Center. Eleanor had a heart for children. She would often go out of her way to help a child in need. Eleanor could often be seen eating some Chinese food in Selma at China One. She would never miss an opportunity to go enjoy some good Chinese or Mexican food.

Per her request, no formal services will be held.

Eleanor is survived by her children, Dale Mosley, Linwood Mosley and wife, Kristi, and Janice Sue Alford, and husband, Anthony; 6 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Eleanor is preceded in death by her brothers, JR Hales and Jesse Hales.
